Hawthorne Fine Art Managing Partner Jennifer Krieger presented the lecture “Women Artists of the Hudson River School” at the Mattatuck Museum of Art in Waterbury, CT on June 8th. The lecture was a part of the museum’s new annual Julie Keggi Lectures that focus on under-recognized women artists. Mrs. Keggi is a former board member and active supporter of the museum and was in attendance at the lecture in the museum’s 19th century lobby.
As the co-curator of last summer’s groundbreaking exhibition Remember the Ladies: Women Artists of the Hudson River School, Ms. Krieger spoke on the oft-ignored women of the period. Before she spoke, Jennifer commented, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to participate in the Mattatuck’s first lecture of an important series and to shed light on the unique experience of the women artists of the Hudson River School. I am looking forward to discussing their refined accomplishments and the indomitable spirit with which they met the challenges of their time.”
Jennifer was thrilled by the wonderful turnout and the thoughtful response of the audience. To learn more about her past and upcoming lectures, please visit the Speaking Engagements page of our website: http://hawthornefineart.com/speaking-engagements.html
